Heya, so what's new? Blogger's block, bleah. Let's unstick this thing.
Although Shmoo still has 9 days of school left, it already feels like summer break. The kids have been spending every spare minute outside. There are two girls Shmoo's age on our cul-de-sac and the impact of having other kids in the neighborhood cannot be overstated. The added coolness is that Suzie's parents are from Ghana and Selena's parents are from El Salvador. So it's like a Benetton ad on our block every night. (We're missing an Asian, although Shmoo's classmate with Pakistani parents lives a block up & over.)
Mud pies! Livin' the kid cliche.
HPR planted a garden and we can't believe the progress. There are already some green cherry tomatoes. Corn is waist high (by Memorial Day). Beans and peas and okra and herbs and carrots and peppers and more.
He wanted to plant strawberries in another plot, but got caught up in planting other things in it, so today we picked tons of strawberries at a farm.
Roo announced to everyone she encountered, "I picked SPA-bayoh-wees!"
I made myself a spinach and strawberry salad, yes I did. Not pictured is the basket Shmoo took to share with Suzie and Selena immediately after we arrived home.
In other news,
marble towers, we find, make great laxatives.

Shmoo is a man after my own heart, hanging out with the ladies. I didn't have a guy friend until I was six.
Love Roo's curly hair and SPA-bayoh-wees.
